Monthly Challenges
Monthly Challenges are exactly what the title says. These are challenges that occur monthly and involve the entire community! Now, sometimes, we don't put up a challenge, because the previous month wasn't meant [rarely], or we just can't think of anything good. We would rather put out something fun and well thought over something pretty lame! So if you see a month missing a prompt, don't worry, we probably just decided to extend last months!So why do these matter to me the player?
Monthly challenges can actually effect the game! You probably don't realize it yet, but in bartering you can get boosts or negatives to bartering to certain empires depending on the last month's or current month's challenge! For example, during February you have an increased chance of bartering with all vendors. Even the Underground vendor!
However, sometimes negative stuff can happen. Failure of a challenge usually creatives a negative! But something like the February gathering of roses won't create a negative outcome, because there's really nothing negative about it!
The Types of Challenges
There are three types of monthly challenges:- Easy
- Moderate
- High Danger
Easy is something like gathering roses! It's super simple, almost never has a negative impact, and is all around meant to be chill! Moderate is not hard, but it requires a little more effort. You could fail this challenge, but the negative impact isn't really all that bad. High danger is a dangerous Monthly Challenge! You can be attacked, lose health, and the result of failure can affect the game drastically! High danger and moderate challenges can end before the end of the month.
Sometimes monthly challenges are going to effect raids, making some harder or easier than others during certain months.
Ok But this the same thing being drawn over and over???
Yes and no! We try to give each a bit of a different twist, but at the same time there's a reason for this.
The best way to learn how to do something new, is to do it over, and over, and over, and over again. It can be pretty boring, but you will be amazed to see just how you get better if you draw the same thing again and again! Plus, the idea is to get everyone participating at least once. The more players who try it out, the higher chance for success with minimal effort from everyone else!
Alright, how do I participate then?
It's very simple! On the right hand side of the group's front page, we have a block labeled "Monthly Challenge." This block contains an icon of one of our item artworks, which is always present somehow in the challenge. It could be the reward or something you are looking for! If you click on that artwork, it will take you to the current journal that holds all the details.
Monthly Challenges cycle monthly, so at midnight on the last day of the month, the challenge is closed, and a new one is put up! The icon and link get updated, as each one is on it's own journal. The journal contains all the information you need to know to complete the challenge!
F.A.Q.
I don't Own a Dy, can I still participate?Yes! Most monthly challenges allow you to use a starting progenitor to participate! They will usually be labeled if you can't!
My entry was late, will it be counted?
Unfortunately, no, it isn't fair to the other players, as some of these challenges can get pretty competitive!
